Italian Sausage Tortellini Casserole

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 2 tbsp Minced Garlic
  • 2 tbsp Italian Seasoning
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 ea Diced Green Bell Pepper
  • 1 cup Diced Onion white or yellow preferred
  • 1 lb Mild Italian Sausage
  • 40 oz Marinara
  • 2 lb Tortellini Pasta
  • 8 oz Italian Blend Shredded Cheese
  • 1 handful Chopped Parsley for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Boil water and cook Tortellini according to the package and set aside
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • In a medium/large pan, warm 1 tbsp on olive oil at medium heat
  • Add 2 tbsp on garlic and let simmer for 1-2 minutes
  • Add 1 cup of onion to pan
  • Let cook until starting to brown (about 2 minutes)
  • Add diced green pepper
  • Let simmer on medium heat, stirring often, for 10 minutes
  • Add Italian Sausage to pan and break it into pieces using your spatula
  • Continually stir and cook meat until cooked throughout (about 10 minutes)
  • Add marinara sauce to pan and stir
  • Add the Italian Seasoning and Garlic Powder to the pan and stir
  • Add tortellini and sausage/sauce mixture to a casserole dish (9x13 works best)
  • Mix together
  • Top mixture with cheese
  • Put in oven and bake for 10 minutes or until cheese is fully melted
  • Pull out, garnish with parsley, and serve!
