TikTok got me again. The people on TikTok are so creative…especially with the recipes. I initially saw the viral pasta chip recipe a month or so ago and thought it was ridiculous. Isn’t hard pasta just uncooked pasta?? After seeing it so many times, I decided that I would have to try it before knocking it too bad. I had watched many people try it and I don’t think that I ever saw someone dislike it so what did I have to lose? I was intrigued.Â
I decided to follow @feelgoodfoodie‘s recipe. I did try to figure out who the original person who posted this recipe was, but I couldn’t figure it out! This creator had the most views, so I figured that had to mean the recipe was good right?Â
For this recipe, you will need noodles – anything other than linguine, fettuccini, and spaghetti noodles should work. You need bite size noodles that you can grab and dip in the feta sauce. Spoiler alert: The feta dip is amazing!
You start with boiling your water for noodles, just as the box says. You will, however, take them out and drain them a little early. These noodles should be cooked al dente- which means the noodle is cooked to be firm to the bite. The more you cook the noodle, the softer and gooier the noodle becomes.Â
I would recommending starting to check on the noodle at around 5-6 minutes of boiling. Keep checking until it’s definitely cooked, but not as soft as your usual noodle for a pasta dish would be. Drain and put the noodles back in the pot (if you have read any of my other blogs, you know I hate dirtying another bowl). Add the olive oil and spices and mix.Â

They should now be ready for the air fryer. Depending on how big your air fryer is, you may need to place the noodles in the fryer in shifts. Mine is on the smaller end, 2.6 quarts, but works great for me. Click here for the exact one that I have. Everything in my kitchen is this color, so I love that I can leave it on my counter instead of hiding it away in a cabinet.Â
You can see that I couldn’t fit all of the noodles for this recipe, but I put one layer down and that ended up being half. Not bad for this smaller air fryer!Â
I put these in at 400°F for 10 minutes, tossing every so often to make sure it was evenly cooked.Â
Each air fryer settings might be different, so I recommend starting at that and adding a couple minutes each time that it is necessary to get a golden brown color like the picture below.Â
While the noodles are in the air fryer, I would recommend making the dip. It’s super simple. You just add the ingredients to a mixer or blender and voila. This was the easiest part of the whole recipe.Â
The moment of truth. Dipping the noodle in the dip and seeing what the hype is about…honestly, I wasn’t in love! I know…after all this it is a disappointment, especially if you are here and excited to try the recipe for yourself. But rest assured, I was the minority. I brought these to a party and several people could not stop eating them- even without the dip.Â
One tip I do recommend is to make sure that you eat them as soon as possible after they are made. I think they get a bit mushy after awhile. They definitely need the “crunch”.Â
Let me know if you try it too!!Â
